My app notifications aren’t coming through (Android)

Updated over a month ago

There are many different vendors with slightly different implementations of this, so the reason why you're not receiving a notification on Android may be difficult to track down. However, it usually comes down to some settings preventing notifications altogether. Try these:

  • Settings > Sounds & Vibration > Do Not Disturb: if this setting is enabled, Push Notifications will not be received. Make sure this is disabled.

  • Settings > General > Background App Refresh: this setting allows apps to run in the background and must be turned on.

  • Settings > Apps > Your App > Notifications: make sure the All notifications toggle is enabled.

  • Settings > Apps > Your App > Permissions: make sure that Notifications is present under Allowed.

  • Settings > Apps > Your App > App battery usage: make sure your app isn't on Restricted, and optimally on Unrestricted (although Optimized should work too)

  • Settings > Apps > Chrome > Notifications: ensure that all toggle switches are turned on.

  • Settings > Apps > Chrome > Power Usage Details: Disable the Manage automatically toggle and set auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background to On.

  • Settings > Battery > App Launch: Look for the Chrome App, if this is enabled then Push Notifications will not be received. Make sure this is disabled.

Alternatively you can try clearing the cookies and cache on your Android

If app notifications aren't coming through you will need to uninstall the app, clear the cookies from your phone and reinstall the app. Follow these instructions to do this from an Android. This process can sometimes be required after updating your phones software.

First delete the Creative Freedom app from your home screen of your phone.

From your phone's internet select the menu in the top right corner and choose 'Settings':

Next select 'Sites and downloads'

Next select 'Manage website data'

Use the search bar to search 'creativefreedom':

Press and hold on one of the options to select. Select any 'creativefreedom' websites and press 'Delete All':

Now head to www.creativefreedom.app and login. From the dashboard click 'Install' when this banner shows.

Follow the instructions to save Creative Freedom to your home screen. Once done click the 'Get notifications' button when this popup appears.

Click 'Allow notifications' if prompted.

Next, head to Settings and scroll down to notifications. Click 'test notifications button'.

You'll then receive the following notification to confirm the setup was successful. For Android phones you may see these show in your notifications menu.
