How to send emails via Creative Freedom from my private domain email address

If you have a [email protected] email address then learn how to set this up

Updated over a week ago

To send emails via your private domain email address first navigate to your Settings page and select Email Setup.

Scroll to the bottom to find the 'setup private domain' button (see picture below).

Once submitted you'll receive two emails, within around 8 hours, from Postmark (please check your junk folder for these).

The first email is super simple. Simply click the 'Confirm Sender Signature' button.

The second email requires a little more attention. The major email providers, like Gmail and Yahoo, require you to add some information to your domain DNS settings so that your emails don't end up in client's junk folders.

Please follow the instructions below to complete the setup:

Update DNS Settings: This sounds technical, but it's just like updating your contact info on a website. You, or whoever manages your domain or set your domain up, will need to add a couple of things to your domain's DNS settings:

1. A TXT record (the email from Postmark will tell you exactly what to add).

2. A CNAME record for the Return-Path (again, details in the Postmark email).

3. Add Another TXT Record that is not included in the Postmark Email:

You'll need to add the following line in the TXT Value box of your DNS settings. v=DMARC1; p=none; sp=none; pct=100; rua=mailto:[email protected];

IMPORTANT: You must replace [email protected] above with your own email address!

Your domain is hosted by a company (like GoDaddy.com or 123-reg.co.uk). If you're unsure how to make these changes, their support team will help you.

Once you've made these changes, please inform us. We'll double-check everything from our end to ensure it's all set up correctly. If any of this sounds confusing or if you hit a roadblock, don't hesitate to reach out to your domain provider's support team. They're equipped to guide you through their specific process.

Unfortunately, Creative Freedom cannot help you make these changes, only your domain provider’s support team can help.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot setup sending emails from
your private domain address until the above steps
are taken as it is detrimental to our main email server.
