How to record part payments and update the final balance

Updated over a week ago

Creative Freedom will always use your payment terms to calculate the payment breakdowns. However, sometimes clients may make part payments, therefore updating the payments by using your payment terms (clicking the red banner) can add some confusing payment lines.

In this instances you can manually update the outstanding amount to deduct the amount paid.

To add a payment line for a part paid amount select 'Add Payment' from the payment section dropdown. Add the amount, description, payment type, select 'paid' and click save.

To amend the unpaid outstanding balance line click the 3 dots on that payment line, deduct the paid amount from that final balance and click save, please see below for an example.

Example

In this example we will add a part payment of £75 to this Bride card:

It will show now that the balance is £75 more than the services. In this case DO NOT press the red banner as it will miscalculate your payments. You can simply reduce the final balance amount manually to make the balance tally...

Click the 3 dots at the end of the 'Final balance' line. This will show the following popup. The final balance was £125, so deducted the £75 that's been paid and this will be £50. Add the new amount and click save.

Part payments can be calculated for you by adding the function to accept payments via the app by connecting to Stripe. More information on this can be found here:
